Home Studio Musicians Association Website Focus
As stated below, the Home Studio Musicians Association focus is more for home studio musicians and aspiring media composers, rather than "studio musicians" or bands. The biggest initial benefit this site has to offer over others, besides networking for HOME STUDIO media composers, is the STUDIO SHOWCASE, where you can show off the inside of your studio by e-mailing us pictures which we will place online. Home Studio of the Month will feature a single studio for a month, with all the specs, once we have enough studio photos to do that with!

  Help Get the Association Started

I anticipate that the Home Studio Musicians Association can and will become everything envisioned in the purpose statement (below), but it will take a MEMBERSHIP to make that happen, and the only way to get this association started is to , become a member NOW, send in photos of YOUR STUDIO to show off in the (e-mail to info at homestudiomusicians dot com) and start some discussions on the Discussion Forums!

I was also hoping for volunteers to contribute to this site's content. Get yourself published if you think you have anything to contribute in the way of ideas, or topics I should set up on the Forums, and send me an e-mail at info at homestudiomusicians dot com (email protection requires you to manually type this address).

  Association Membership & Purpose

The Home Studio Musicians Association membership will consist of multi-talented musicians who have a really expensive hobby of collecting home studio gear, who love composing original music, and who may want to have all their talent and expense pay for itself, or who have already turned their hobby into a money-making musical career: the HOME studio musician. We have the technology, now it's time to collaborate.

The purpose of this website is to provide the home studio musician with all the information you need to compose better, record better, create your own demo CD's, where to submit your music, networking of home studio musicians, and hopefully to provide an avenue of success for those of us who want to take our hobby to the next level through the sharing of information by those who already have. It should be the single largest resource portal for the home studio musician on the internet.

I'm going to need help building this website. The hallmark of the Home Studio Musicians Association will be its membership of Home Studio Musicians. All information will be free, but login will be required to track members and hook people up with similar skills and talents. Eventually, this will be one of the main places film and video producers will come looking, not for performance bands, but for new, fresh original music for film, television, commercials, radio, video games and corporate video.

  Site Creation

The site is for the home studio musician. The music geek who has all, can do it all, play it all. Translated, that means you have the hardware/software to compose original music, can "play" any instrument via keyboard or computer, can play guitar, drums, piano, as well as sing, and can record and master your own CD's in your own personal studio. The multi-talented composer, arranger, producer, and audio engineer - the home studio musician.

This website isn't necessarily for the "studio" musician, the gig player, the fill-in bassist, or the stage artist. There's a difference we're trying to define between the "studio" musician, and the HOME studio musician.

It is those of us who have acquired the ability to create the entire finished product of a polished CD in our own homes, especially amateurs... but home studio composers who are getting paid to compose for film, tv, radio, video games or other media are welcome as well - you are what we all aspire to achieve.

  Association Founder

Les Konley
aka: Local Anesthetic

"I needed information on how to properly record my compositions, without squashing the dynamics. Trying to do everything by myself, from composing, arranging, mixing, engineering and mastering... there was just too much to know without collaboration.

"Information was difficult to come by for what I was trying to accomplish in my home studio. Despite all the books and magazines out there, I couldn't always easily find the answers I was looking for to improve my recording dynamics or master my own demo CD.

"So I created this website and the Association for the rest of us. It's gonna be HUGE!"
