Places to Submit Your and Sell Your Music
|
|
This is certainly not a comprehensive list, but we'll keep adding to it. You've heard of some, but probably not all of them.
CDBaby.com
The CD store with the best independent music... and they have the higest artist payout schedule. Your music is also automatically digitally distributed for free to Apple Music, Napster.com, MusicMatch, and more! Your CD also automatically appears on the Tower Records website as part of the deal.
Amazon Advantage Program
You can get your CD for sale on Amazon by joining the Amazon Advantage Program. Their inventory is run by a sales forecasting program, and starts you out by stocking only 1 or 2 of your CDs at a time, until you build up a regular sales history. They keep almost 50% of the sales, but offer direct deposit. However, the do NOT offer online samples of your music - apparently, your CD must be managed by distributor before you get that 'advantage.'
Internet Underground Music Archive
IUMA is also oriented to promoting bands, but with a more personalized style.
TrueFire.com
TrueFire is a self-publishing tool and open marketplace for authors and artists wishing to promote and distribute their original poetry, guitar lessons, novels, music, reference material, photography and artwork.
SongPeddler
The online songshop of eclectic music.
MP3.com
Taken over and trashed by CNET.com.
